Our tests must be ordered through a provider. If you have a reference number, you may give that out to patients who can then order on our website for a drop ship directly to their home.

No, we suggest they keep to their current diet.
All results will be uploaded to our HIPAA-compliant Providers Portal. Once your initial results are available, you will receive an email containing a link to the portal along with your username and password.
Within our new portal, you can:
- View and download results
- Order additional kits
- Update account information
- And more

We offer a free consultation with one of our registered practitioners to help walk you through patient results or any general questions about our testing! Please schedule your consultation request here and someone will get back to you with 24 hours.
To prevent samples from hemolyzing we have all serum samples use overnight delivery. There will be no one to receive samples on Saturday to refrigerate so we kindly ask you to only send serum samples Mon-Thurs.
Metabolic Insights Profile (MIP) FAQ’s
The MIP test is a comprehensive urine-based organic acid analysis that assesses various biological markers related to gut health, detoxification, mitochondrial function, neurotransmitters, nutrition, and oxalate levels.
No. Patients need to go through a practitioner to order a test. Please call our customer service to find a practitioner near you.
A urine sample of 5–7 mL is required.
Yes. Refer to the provided collection instructions for dietary restrictions prior to sample collection.
The turnaround time (TAT) is 7–10 business days.
Results are made available through a HIPAA-protected provider’s portal.
Detox Indicators: Includes markers like glutathione that help assess toxin elimination.
Microbial Metabolites: Assesses byproducts of harmful bacterial or fungal overgrowth.
Mitochondrial Function: Evaluates energy production and cellular metabolism.
Neurotransmitter Metabolism: Provides insight into brain chemistry and nervous system activity.
Nutrition and Oxalates: Analyzes dietary balance and risks such as kidney stones from high oxalate levels.
The test is particularly useful for individuals experiencing unexplained chronic symptoms, neurological issues, fatigue, gut dysfunction, or anyone looking for personalized insights into their biochemical health.
We use a triple-quad LC/MS/MS instrument to analyze our samples.

KBMO offers free consults to practitioners that run the test. Please contact us to receive the link to schedule a consult.
Practitioners will run the MIP every three months for patients currently going through treatment. Patients that are undergoing wellness checks typically run the MIP every 6-12 months.
No. However, we will provide a superbill so that you can submit to insurance.
